Honestly, I bought this course because it was on sale for $15 for Mother's Day; I'm really glad I did. In the past, I considered myself to be pro-choice. In more recent years, since coming back to my Catholic faith, I understood abortion to be wrong (because it's murder) but beyond that couldn't articulate why it's wrong. With having taken this course, I now have a strong foundation in being able to explain why abortion is wrong to someone.

This course exemplifies the top notch content I have come to expect and is consistent with Catholic Answer's goal of being the most trusted resource for quality Catholic content. Though I think the normal price for the course is entirely worth the quality of the content of the course, I received my copy for free as a gift for joining The Counsel of Trent's Patreon. Thank you for doing everything possible to make this resource widely available in light of the upcoming Supreme Court decision and the new beginning it will entail in the fight to defend unborn life. I have begun recommending it to friends that I think will value from it as well.

Trent Horn's School of Apologetics course on "Arguing Against Abortion" is just what Catholics need in a post-Roe America to ardently and winsomely defend the right to life for the preborn. In this course, Trent provides all the ammunition needed on how to simplify the abortion issue and focus the conversation on the key question, "What (or Who) are the preborn?", how to defend the humanity of preborn children, and how to answer common pro-abortion arguments. He does this by using the Socratic Method of asking questions to probe the beliefs of the abortion advocate to show that those beliefs violate common sense, science, and Natural Moral Law. In his concluding lesson, Trent says now that we have this knowledge, we must not be afraid to use it to change the hearts and minds of abortion advocates around us. This is the only way we can change the culture into one that promotes and celebrates life from conception to natural death.

If you have difficulty learning, this course is for you! You can tell me something over and over and I usually won't remember it. This course is so well made and absorbable. I'm amazed, it makes me feel equipped to go out and talk to anyone with Love now about why it matters to protect the unborn. Before I used to be afraid to talk to people about abortion, even though I've read and seen many resources about why it is wrong to end another human being's life. When it comes to pro abortion people talking about emotional reasons to have an abortion, like in cases of rape or insest, or when I've spoken with people who do not remain calm while talking about this subject, I would become lost in how to talk to them. This is why I love this course: It not only teaches you the reasons why it is necessary to protect the life of every human being no matter where they are located, it actually teaches you how to have a conversation, and how to stay on topic of "what is the unborn?". It is as simple as that and it is so freeing to have this help now! I pray this helps to save all lives of babies in the womb. :) Thanks Trent and Catholic Answers! This is an amazing resource! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE!! :D

The course provides the basics for generally discussing the subject of abortion in most settings, in a didactic and simple way. The quiz for advancing into the next chapter is sometimes annoying, but allows for reflecting on the previous chapter. The image and sound are great, and the production is excellent. It is a blessing to have this type of classes available for understanding the general principles to discuss on the abortion subject with love and mercy.

In conjunction with the section on attitudes and practices to avoid in the Beginning Apologetics series by Jimmy Akin, this sets up the student with a great way to discuss one of the hardest subjects in modern society. With a significant portion of the population having grown up after Roe v. Wade, it is very hard to break through the secular doctrine that many people have accepted as gospel. Discussion the rights of the unborn with pro-choice advocates can be frustrating, but the Catholic Answers School of Apologetics approach of interacting with people with an eye towards compassion and charity is the only one that will work. Unfortunately, if you do not have the tools, as ably expressed in this learning module by Trent Horn, it is very easy to be frustrated and argue for the value of unborn life without being charitable in your delivery. Trent's practical approaches can help keep an emotional subject on a civil level and hopefully allows us to reach people's hearts. Thank you.
